DEADLOCK IN BOTH HOUSES IMPACTING LIVES OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF MANUAL SCAVENGERS.

Today is the Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore who wrote a poem (he more durbhaga desh ) mainly on caste oppression that keep the dalits backward that creates hindrance in progress of the whole nation and he had been vehemently opposing Hindu caste society that compelled their family to leave Kustia district of the then East Bengal because of attending a marriage party of Muslim neighbor. The Brahmin neighbors had started taunting them saying they have become Muslim as they had smelled the flavour thus had eaten beef as Sanskrit Sloka developed by the Hindu brahmin like ghranenong ardhang bhojanag. Most influential religious reformist movements responsible for the making of modern India. It was started atCalcutta on 20 August 1828 by Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Debendranath Tagore as reformation of the prevailing Brahmanism of the time (specifically Kulin practices) and began the Bengal Renaissance of the 19th century pioneering all religious, social and educational advance of the Hindu community in the 19th century(source Wikipedia,). The photo is self explanatory that the content of the poem written 150 years ago is still relevant for the cruel social system that persist still today.
DEADLOCK IN BOTH HOUSES IMPACTING LIVES OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF MANUAL SCAVENGERS.

With absolutely no form of work happening in both the houses of Parliament, some very important Bills are being held up from becoming law. This means that lives of hundreds of thousands of manual scavengers is worsen due to lack of law for prohibition and rehabilitation.

A "manual scavenger" is defined as a person who is engaged for manually cleaning or disposing of human excreta in an insanitary latrine or in an open drain or on a railway track. "Insanitary latrine" means a latrine which requires human excreta to be cleaned manually (except water flush latrine in a railway passenger coach which is cleaned by an employee using protective gear as notified by the central government).

he Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Bill, 2012 was introduced in the Lok Sabha on September 3, 2012 by the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Mukul Wasnik.

Please share to spread the word against the atrocities being done against a significant section of society.
