PRESS RELEASE
Social Movement Party (SMP) has organized a "Press Conference" on the issue of "Failure of PDP-BJP Coalition Government in J&K State on all fronts & their betrayal to common men" in the Press Club, Jammu today on Thursday, 07-05-2015 at 12:00 noon held by its National Secretary General Advocate Ashok Kumar Basotra.
Addressing the media persons Mr. Basotra alleged that the present PDP-BJP Coalition Government has failed miserably on all fronts in J&K State and they have completely betrayed the common men/women of the State as the common minimum programme between the two is just an eye wash and both the parties have nothing common between them except to plunder the State of J&K at the cost of its rest of the population. He further asserted that perhaps both have forgotten the fate of NC-Congress who had ruled the State for years together and plundered the State at the cost of general public at large, and the same public threw them out of power just to teach them a very memorable lesson.
Mr. Ashok Kumar Basotra reminded the PDP-BJP Coalition Government that they have used the common masses, particularly SCs, STs, OBCs and converted minorities from these communities, to reach to the J&K State Assembly as they are now turning a deaf ear towards their most genuine demands. Social Movement Party demanded at the first instance the following demands in favour of common men from the present coalition government of J&K State:-
1. Implementation of 32% vertical reservation in favour of O.B.Cs after including the remaining 29 Castes from the J&K State list of Mandal Commission along with two more castes viz. "Sainis" and "Jats"; and filling of backlog quota of SCs, STs & OBCs accordingly in terms of provisions of the Constitution of India.
2. Providing PRCs and all the rights to the present generations of the West Pakistani Refugees at par with other citizens of the State.
3. Providing PRCs and all the rights to the present generations of all the deprived castes viz. Safai Karamcharis, Bazigars, Sansis etc. living in the State of J&K prior to 1947 at par with other citizens of the State.
4. Vesting of ownership rights to the local allottees/tenants of Evacuee Properties, Nazool Land/properties and Government Land at a very nominal rates.
Mr. Basotra said that the Party shall launch agitation against the present PDP-BJP Coalition Government in case the above said demands are not fulfilled by the said coalition government within a period of next two months. "We will come on roads of Jammu, Kashmir & Leh in each and every district with huge support of common masses and force Mufti-Nirmal Government to resign!" Mr. Basotra warned in the Press Conference. Mr. Basotra also expressed that this coalition government is not going to rule for long and the State is going to face next Assembly Elections within a very short span of time in which SMP shall come into power and SMP is surely going to fulfill all the demands of common masses thereafter, most probably within six months at the most.
Social Movement Party also supported the issue of observing "Black-Day" by the common masses of Kashmir Valley on the opening day of "Darbar Move" as like common masses of Jammu, they also feel that the innocent voters have been cheated by PDP as well as BJP as the issues, on which PDP-BJP have contested the Assembly Elections, have been thrown in the dust bin and both have joined hands despite being politically and ideologically poles apart from each other just to grab political power at any cost in order to cater their personal interests.
Finally, the SMP thanked all the Press & Media persons who attended the Press Conference, and also thanked its members, activists & leaders to make this Press Conference a grand success. Prominent amongst those who attended the press-conference were Mr. Dayal Singh Bhagat, Mr. Dheeraj Thapa, Mr. Ajit Kumar Vashishath, Mr. Hem Raj phonsa, Mr. Des Raj Yadav, Mr. Abid Hussain, Mr. Parshotam Kumar Chandel, Dr. Bodh Raj Bawa, Ms. Madhu Bala, Mr. Sarwan Kumar Kundal, Mr. Bansi Lal Chargotra, Mr. Jai Paul, Ms. Purshotama Kumari, Mr. Ajay Jagotra, Mr. Bharat Bhushan & Mr. Kanwarjeet Sethi.
