Even as the city police have failed to get any clue in connection with the murder of anti-superstition activist Narendra Dabholkar, senior police inspector Sanjay Nikam of the crime branch, who visited Sanatan Sanstha ashram in Goa to record statements and collect certain documents, returned to the city on Sunday without much to share.

A senior crime branch officer said they are yet to confirm the motive and identify persons responsible for killing Dabholkar.

"We are probing different angles. Our officer visited the ashram and with the help of Goa police recorded statements of a few people. Officials at the ashram cooperated with us and gave

us all the information," the officer said.

Meanwhile, Pune Police Commissioner Gulabrao Pol while addressing the media on Monday said the investigation is still on.

"Investigation teams are working on the case day and night. They have not been deployed for Ganesh festival bandobast so that investigation into the murder do not suffer," said Pol.

Police had earlier released sketches of two persons who allegedly shot dead Dabholkar on Omkareshwar bridge around 7.15 am on August 20. Investigators have so far interrogated over 20 people but no strong clues have emerged.

As a practice, police also questioned over 1,500 people including criminals involved in serious offences like murder, armed robberies and illegal trade of firearms. Police also grilled as many 100 people associated to Hindu outfits who had opposed Dabholkar's anti-superstition movement.

Police have also analysed over 150 CCTV footages to get clues about assailants. The seven footages which captured assailants were sent to a lab in UK as the videos were blurred.

However, a officer said no significant details were obtained after the analysis.
