Why did you allow the police on campus when it is clear that this was not legally required?" the e-mail sent on Sunday read.

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has said her recent tweet on the Jawaharlal Nehru University sedition row that whipped up a storm of protest was to convey her view that violence and bullying solved nothing, and not to pass judgement on India.

The 18-time singles Grand Slam champion has been trolled on Twitter following a February 22 post linking two New York Times articles critical of the Indian government and talking about the march in the Capital by JNU students to protest the arrest of their union leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who has been booked for sedition.

The Delhi high court today gave 6-month interim bail to Kanhaiya Kumar, the Jawaharlal Nehru students' union president who was arrested on sedition charge. Kanhaiya is currently lodged in the Tihar Jail under judicial custody.

The court gave relief to Kanhaiya by asking him to furnish a personal bond of Rs 10,000 and a surety of like amount. The high court made it clear that a JNU faculty member has to stand as surety for Kanhaiya.

Justice Pratibha Rani had on Monday reserved the order after over three hours of hearing on the bail plea of Kanhaiya, accused of raising anti-India slogans inside JNU campus during an event organised on February 9.

During the hearing, while Kanhaiya's counsel had argued that the student leader had never raised any slogans against the nation, Delhi Police had maintained that there was evidence that he and others were shouting anti-India slogans and were holding Afzal Guru's posters.

The police had claimed that Kanhaiya was "not cooperating" in the probe and even came out with "contradictory" statements in joint interrogation by Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Delhi Police.

The defence lawyers, including senior advocate Kapil Sibal, had countered the allegations saying there were "some outsiders with covered faces who raised anti-India slogans and Kanhaiya was seen in CCTV footage asking them for their identity cards."

The bench had also asked tough questions to the police on slapping sedition charge on the accused and asked it to show evidence against him of his "active role" in raising anti-India slogans.

Giving him the bail today, the high court listed out certain conditions, including that he will have to cooperate in the investigation in the case and present himself before the investigators as and when required.

Kanhaiya had also distanced himself from Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya, the two other accused arrested in the case.

Earlier this week, the case was transferred to the Special Cell, Delhi Police's counter-terrorism unit, with Police Commissioner BS Bassi, who retired on Monday, saying the matter needed "focussed investigation".

Meanwhile,at least three video clips of the alleged 'anti-India' sloganeering in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have been found to be 'doctored' by a forensic examination, a media report said today.

The video samples were sent by the Delhi government to Truth Lab in Hyderabad. 

On February 13, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi had ordered the District Magistrate (New Delhi) to file a factual report about the incident, following conflicting claims of different parties shouting allegedly anti-national slogans on the JNU campus.

Indian Express, quoting its sources, said that three video clips that have been found doctored were found with 'serious' tampering and 'very special words' were inserted in the video clips.

The AAP had earlier questioned police action in the case and claimed, "The facts that are coming to light about this entire incident point towards a deep suspicion about the conspiratorial role played by the ABVP."

According to sources, it said, the various video clips suggested that nowhere in the videos of February 9, when Kanhaiya Kumar, currently in judicial custody facing charges of 'sedition', was seen raising any 'anti-national' slogans.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reportedly twitted 'Satyameva Jayate' on the stunning performance of his poster girl, Smriti Irani, the union Human Resources Development Minister, in the Lok Sabha defending herself and his government in the matters of attack on Ambedkar Students Association (ASA) in Hyderabad Central University (HCU) and radical students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Students Union. The entire BJP establishment was visibly pleased over what it thought was pulping the opposition. Many political ignoramuses from the middle class also were vocally impressed by what they saw as her powerful refutation of the opposition's case with hard facts and figures. It is this lot that has pushed the country to this abysmal state. What Irani did was no better than one of her television performances as a Hindu bahu. It was more of a  drama than confronting the serious issues she herself created. It characteristically reflected the insensitivity of the regime to the tragedy it unleashed on people and disdain to the India's democratic institutions including the Parliament itself. Most importantly, all that she said was either irrelevant or pure lies.

The Core Issues

It will be interesting to see whether Smriti Irani touched any of the core issues involved in either Rohith Vemula's suicide in the HCU or the Kanhaiya Kumar and other students' arrests in the JNU in her nearly 50 minutes speech.

Rohith's case begins with the derogatory comments made by the ABVP- HCU Unit president Nandanam Susheel Kumar on his face book calling the ASA members goons. It was in reaction to the demonstrations of the ASA condemning ABVP's attack on the screening of 'Muzaffarnagar Baaqi Hain', in Delhi University's Kirorimal College associated with arrogant statements like, "main Hindu hoon, main tujhe thappad maarunga." (I'm a Hindu, I'll slap you). The ABVP had even grudged the ASA's protest against the hanging of Yakub Memon earlier, along with many others across the country who were not sold to pop patriotism of the Hindutva camp. Taking offence, the ASA members had mobbed Susheel Kumar and demanded a written apology, which he gave in presence of security personnel of the HCU. However, the next morning he admitted himself into a private hospital, got him photographed and filed a police complaint that the ASA members had beaten him. This has been proved false by the statement of the security personnel who were the eye witness to the incident; doctors of the Archana Hospital in Madinaguda, where he was admitted on August 4; the affidavit of the Registrar of the HCU; and even the affidavit of the Cyberabad police commissioner C V Anand to the High Court. Even the proctorial board of the HCU, that investigated the matter, did not find any 'hard evidence' for beating.

It is this false complaint of the ABVP leader, whipped up by the BJP leaders that culminated to Rohith's death. It is said that the BJP MLC, Ramachandra Rao had met with the then vice-chancellor Prof. R.P. Sharma asking him to take action against the ASA members. The BJP MP and union Minister of State for Labour, Bandaru Dattatreya, subsequently wrote toSmriti Irani. The letter from Dattatreya, an RSS member of 50 years vintage, pracharak for two decades, a veteran BJP leader to be a minister of state in the Vajpayee as well as in the current Modi government, to Smriti Irani, who has been infamously promoting saffron agenda in her ministry has eventually precipitated the abominable punishment to the five Dalit research scholars. Dattatreya's letter irresponsibly complained against the HCU for having become a mute spectator of the 'casteist, extremist and anti-national' activities of the ASA. Irani, not only suggestively wrote to the VC to take action as she had done earlier in the case of an anonymous complaint against the Ambedkar Periyar Study Circle (APSC) in IIT, Madras, but also ensured that action was taken with persistent follow up from her office.  

It was under this political pressure that the HCU administration had suspended the five ASA members for a semester in August last year. It sparked off massive protest which forced the Vice Chancellor (VC) to revoke the order pending investigation by a new committee. Meanwhile, the new VC, Prof Appa Rao Poddile had taken the charge. With a two-decade long history of rusticating Dalit students, and with accusations from his own staff for being casteist (The News Minute, January 22, 2016), he crawled into action by appointing a new committee and eventually issuing the punishment to the five Dalit students. The punishment comprised their expulsion from hostels and banning them from accessing library, hostel and administrative building in groups. It amounted to social boycott of the students, reminding one of the reign of Manusmriti vis-a-vis the outcaste Dalits. Nowhere to go, the students erected a shed with the banners and posters in the shopcom area of the university and began living there in the biting cold of Hyderabad winter. Without any arrangement for sanitation or food, and without money (their fellowships not being paid since last July), the VC, however, did not realize the monstrosity of the punishment. Such humiliating condition created collectively by ABVP's Sushil Kumar, BJP's Ramachandra Rao, Bandaru Dattatreya, and Smriti Irani and precipitated by the HCU administration headed by Appa Rao Poddile drove Rohith to take his life. It was a murder executed with the institutional processes.

The core issue therefore is the misdemeanour of these culprits for abetting the suicide of Rohith. Smriti Irani, herself an accused, did not touch upon these issues at all. Instead, she kept on patronizingly referring to him as a child.

Likewise, the JNU is sparked off by the agitation of the ABVP against the cultural evening "The Country without Post Office", organized by the Left progressive students. Firstly, it had influenced the Administration to withdraw the permission for the programme. The question of permission to the programme raised by Irani craves for a counter question whether the programme of ABVP's protest had permission. The entire episode appears to have been scripted to enact the offensive strategy in face of the repeated humiliation the BJP had faced in previous confrontations with students. Earlier episodes, viz., APSC in IIT Madras and ASA in HCU involved Ambedkarite students and issues of caste and culture, which had badly boomeranged. The BJP could not afford to antagonize Dalit voters beyond a certain point. Therefore, it decided to play up an issue of antinationalism in JNU to kill several birds with one stone. JNU represents domination of radical and progressive students, and significant presence of Dalits, Adivasis and minorities, who were vocally opposed to hindutva politics. If it could take on JNU on a plank of nationalism, it would terrorize the radical students and embolden others to come under the ABVP umbrella. The manner in which the entire episode unfolded supports this speculative thesis. For instance, the crucial matter of police entering the JNU campus is attributed to a letter by JNU Chief Security Officer Navin Yadav at 4:30 pm to the duty officer of Vasant Kunj police station on 9 February. Yadav reportedly told the police that anti-national activities and anti-constitutional sloganeering might take place inside the campus. Is it plausible that a Security Officer of a University writes to the police station without the consent of the vice chancellor? How did he know that such slogans would be raised in the 'cultural' meet unless someone had told him?

Some outsiders infiltrating the gathering of students being provoked by the ABVP into shouting those anti-India slogans; targeting the JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, the face of opposition to ABVP in the campus; the home minister, Rajnath Singh insinuating Pakistan hand behind the anti-national sloganeering based on the fake Hafeez Saeed's twit; doctoring of the video showing Kanhaiya Kumar shouting those slogans; some television channels systematically whipping up the mass sentiments of people against him and JNU students; police not taking cognisance of the students' FIRs but pouncing upon the students hostels on a complaint made by a BJP MP Mahesh Girri; arresting Kanhaiya and terrorising the entire student community; unleashing its storm-troopers in the garb of lawyers to beat students and journalists within the court premises and repeating it again despite nationwide condemnation in the name of nationalism; attacking Kanhaiya in defiance of the Supreme Court's instruction to protect him and issuing open threats to kill him under the nose of the Delhi police, which had shamelessly become inert onlookers; and delaying grant of bail to Kanhaiya even though the expert legal opinion has long dismissed the applicability of the sedition law to him. Without a conscious strategy, perfect script and meticulous planning, such a perfect show would not be possible at all.

The issues here are the role of the vice chancellor in allowing the police to raid hostels and hound the students; doctoring the evidence; arresting Kanhaiya without a shred of evidence against him except for the doctored video; slapping sedition itself in face of its inapplicability; defaming the DSU and other radical students as anti-nationals with connection with the Pakistani terrorists and Maoists; the blatant complicity of the Delhi police chief in allowing BJP's storm troopers a free hand; the omission and commission of judiciary in delaying the bail to Kanhaiya. Smriti Irani simply skipped all these issues.

Then what did She Say?

She said either irrelevant things or simply lies. Marshalling all her skills in acting, she converted the parliament into a stage for her melodrama. Her paternalistic references to Rohith as child, her reference to her own persona challenging the opposition to identify her caste; her dialogue delivery that if she was proved wrong she would give up politics and place her head at the feet of the opposition could be a piece from any third rate Hindi film. While she feigned motherly concern for Rohith, she defended her actions in ensuring the university punished him along with his comrades. It was not her first act anyway. She had acted similarly on an anonymous complaint against the APSC students in IIT, Madras pushing the latter to ban it. Rohith was not some innocent child; he was a mature and educated person (unlike her) opposed to her right-wing politics, for which he had to pay with his life. As regards caste, her disdain for Dalits, can be easily discerned from above instances. It is irrelevant what caste she belonged to when anyone in the country can unmistakably say that she is not a Dalit. While Rohith's mother challenged brahmanical patriarchy and asserted her motherhood by lending her caste to her children, Irani invoked the latter and challenged Rohith's caste. It is utter naiveté of her to speak about caste in such a superficial manner. The other challenge she threw up is rather more problematic because having proved wrong on everything she said, she should give up politics and spare the country impending mess in higher education; none being interested in her head as such.    

In the case of JNU, the motherly minister did not hesitate to read out the names of suspended children in Parliament in utter disregard to the decency or law.

Falsehoods and White Lies

Let us check point by point how Irani lied in the Parliament: She said, "The committee which suspended Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula was not constituted by our government, but by the UPA regime." While it is not relevant who constituted the committee, the action could well be influenced by the people in power. Incidentally, it is a deliberate lie. The committee was constituted by the vice chancellor, Appa Rao, who was appointed by the BJP government. Then she tried to prey upon Rohith's suicide note that he has not blamed anyone. It only showed to what depth she could descend in trivializing the state of mind in which he ended his life. If at all, she wanted to understand whom he blamed, she could read his sarcastic letter of 18 December to Appa Rao. He had said it all there, generalizing the harassment and humiliation of Dalit students in the HCU. He had asked the VC to provide while admitting Dalit students with poison and a nice rope. Is that not clear what he meant? He had powerfully indicted the entire university administration being anti-Dalits and that surely included the MHRD that makes it dance to its tune.

Then there came a bigger lie about the police or doctor not being allowed to touch the body until 6.30 in the following morning. Zikrullah Nisha, an economic Ph D Scholar, who called the Health Centre of the HCU immediately after she got to know about Vemula's suicide on January 17, shouted "Liar..Liar.." for Irani on her facebook wall. By now the statement as well as the report of the CMO, Health Centre, Dr. Rajashree P. is in public domain that she had reached within minutes, examined the body of Rohith and declared him dead. This and the pictures showing the Telangana police present at the time of this examination squarely nails Irani's lie.

Next, she showed the report of the security department of the university, dated February 11, 2016 with statements of 38 security guards. She read out, "The crowd started to swell. Umar and Anirban stood there. 'Afzal Guru, Maqbool Bhat zindabad', 'Kashmir ki azadi tak jung rahegi', 'Bharat ki barbaadi tak jung rahegi', 'jis Kashmir ko khoon se seencha, woh Kashmir humara hai', 'hum kya maange azadi, bandook se lenge azadi', 'go India, go back', 'Indian Army murdabad'. There were a few people present there with their faces hidden with cloth." What does the report say? That Umar and Anirban were standing and all those slogans were shouted by the crowd that had a few people with their faces hidden. Firstly, if these slogans, howsoever, reprehensible they may be, do not constitute any crime in law, least the crime of sedition. However, they have immense emotional value, which, as it transpired, was exploited by the BJP to create mass hysteria against the students and even the JNU. There is no way to expect her or for that matter any of her party to know that none of the Leftist students would shout that kind of slogans. They could go any length in condemning the government; ask for self determination for Kashmiris and for that matter, for any nationality. Moreover, they would say it from the roof top and not hide their faces. Who then were these masked people? If one looks at the construction of the superstructure, the foundational clues in the 9 February crowd in JNU must be paid due attention to. The suspicion that they were the BJP hirelings may not be farfetched in view of the their crucial role in the script.

  

Next she showed the poster displayed on 10 February 2016 by the JNUSU office bearers – Kanhaiya Kumar, Shaila Rasheed, Rama Naga as president, vice-president and general secretary respectively. She read out from the poster, "Supreme Court judge, Hindu Fascist State of India, the state was scared of Yakub Memon. Our media is a communal corporate media. We are a murderous republic and our cannibal collective conscience was satiated by hanging Yakub Memon's. We must rise against this judicial muder." Obviously, she and her pariwar members would take it abominable anti-national statements. Unfortunately, they are not. It only questions the government for the miscarriage of justice. It is a viewpoint of people who do not agree with the government. In the present system of government formation, at least 49 percent of people are bound to be indifferent or against the government. Moreover, every citizen of the country has right of free speech enshrined in the Constitution and although there might be certain limits on them, nationalism is certainly not that because there is no such word in the Constitution.

Irani jumps on thereafter to Mahishasur Martyrdom. She challenged both Sugata Bose and Saugata Roy to speak about Mahishasur or Durga on the street of Kolkata. Why Kolkata, in any city the derogatory references to a Hindu deity may not be tolerated by the hegemonic Hindus. But then does it invalidate the existence of some other people who believe otherwise. There precisely lies the crux of the Indian diversity. The tribals for instance are known to worship Mahishasura even in West Bengal. The Hindu mythology is fraught with the conflicts between the brahmanic forces and those who opposed them. Just because the later were vanquished, there cultural existence cannot be erased. India is a museum of such diverse people representing diversity of every possible kind. The respect for all of them is a precondition of her survival. In order that India becomes a nation, it needs to survive first. Irani and her Pariwar in their folly are  endangering the very survival of India. By their own definition, they become thus bigger anti-nationals than anybody else.  

When the BJP cannot defend its action, it invariably brings in parallels in the Congress regime. Irani also tried to take shelter under the fact that all the VCs were not appointed by her. In order to saffronize institutions, it is not necessary that all the appointees need to be changed. Indian bureaucracy is adept at changing its colours as per the ruling party. In only a rare case, someone would be so upright as to incur the displeasure of political bosses. Still, installing people of their choice has been happening whenever the governments changed. The only accusation against the BJP is that it has gone overboard in transcending the limits of decency. Her own example could be the case in point. The others are Sudershan Rao as the Chairman of the Indian council of Historical Research, Ganjendra Chauhan, as Chairman of the FTII society, etc. The ones that survived the change are the  

I am not certifying your patriotism, but do not demean mine. I am not certifying your idea of India, but do not demean mine. To them I say this. Madam speaker, this is the permission slip from JNU.  

Even before this speech, Irani's intervention in Rohith's case had similarly put her foot into her mouth when she said that the committee which awarded punishment to the five dalit scholars was headed by a dalit professor. It was a white lie which provoked the entire SC/ST professors in the HCU to resign en masse from their administrative posts. Another faux pas was her claim that Rohith was not a dalit. The person who emotionally challenged the opposition to identify her caste, was trying to seek a fig leaf of Rohith's caste and not his tragedy. Beyond technicality of his caste which any way established that he was a dalit, the fact remained that he met with his fate because both he and the HCU identified him as dalit. Therefore, both the previous occasions of her intervention in the Rohith's case, she was proved wrong and malafide.    

     

The veteran scientists of Gujarat Labs being at the helm, they would like to apply their proven laws of polarizing people to the entire country. But they forget India is not Gujarat and the students are not the gullible Indians.

बगुला संप्रदाय के अर्थशास्त्र के मुताबिक फर्जी आंकड़ों के दल्ला राजकाज के फर्जी विकास की आर्थिक समीक्षा में सीना ठोंककर पीएप पर टैक्स लगाने की बात कही गयी थी।

बजट में पीएफ टैक्स का प्रावधान लागू करते वक्त था नहीं सोचने समझने का कि गांव,देहात,खेत,इत्यादि के बहाने जल जंगल जमीन के सफाया की सलवा जुड़ुम हुकूमत की  मेहनतशो और कर्मचारियों को,मध्यवर्ग को गरीबों और किसानों से अलग करने की हिंदुत्व राजनीति आखिर खुल्ला चांदमारी है और मेहनतश और सरकारी कर्मचारी संगठित ही नहीं हैं,चुनाव नतीजे बदल देने वाले लोग हैं।

थोड़ा सा शोर शराबा हुआ नहीं कि सुर बदल गया।

समझ लो भाइयों कि ये कायरों की जमात है।जो संकट की घड़ी में गिरगिट की तरह रंग बदलती है।यह दल्ला बहुतल्ला है।

इस आलम में पीएफ और अल्प बचत बाजार में डालने का मौका उनने चुना तो डकैती पकड़ी गयी और फौरन घिघ्घी बांधते हुए सफाई कि असल पर नहीं,ब्याज पर टैक्स लगेगा।

कोई उनसे पूछे ब्याज पर टैक्स लगेगा तो हम जैसे ईमानदार नागरिकों को क्या बाबाजी का ठुल्ल्लु मिलेगा।

इसी तरह एफडीआई और विनिवेश में जोर का झटका धीरे से लगाकर अब मल्टी ब्रांड खुदरा बाजार में सौ फीसदी एफडीआई है और पूरा देश ओएलएक्स पर विनिवेश के बहाने सेल पर है।

किसानों और कारोबारियों को ठिकाने लगाने के बाद अब मेहनतकशों और कर्मचारियों के मरी हुई आम जनता से अलग करने के लिए गरीबी का याह वसंत विलाप है,जिसका मकसद है,एक तीर से दो निशाने।

हम उन्हें उल्लू के पट्ठे नजर आते हैं।

गरीब तजिंदगी यह हिसाब जोड़ नहीं सते कि उन्हें क्या मिला,क्या नहीं मिला,उनके हिस्से ख्याली पुलाव।पढ़े लिखे तबके वैसे ही बुड़बक हैं जिनने बाबासाहेब को धोखा दिया और आम जनता को रगड़ने में वे हुकूमत के हाथ पांव हैं तो आम जनता को कुत्तों ने नहीं काटा कि उनका साथ देंगे।बाप का माल जो लाखों करोड़ पीएफ में है,वह इन ससुरों को देने के बजाय बाजार में झोंक देने का सही मौका है।

हल्ला हुआ तो संबव है कि वे सच कह रहे हैं कि फिलहाल ब्याज तक कयामत रुकी हुई है और फिर मौत को न्यौता देने की जरुरत नहीं होती।बिना बजट आखेट का सिलसिला ही सुधार है।यही सिलसिला कत्ल का सिलसिला है।जिसका विरोध राजद्रोह है यानी हुकूमत के खिलाफ बगावत।

हां, जी हुकूमत के खिलाफ बगावत राजद्रोह है।

हां, जी हुकूमत के खिलाफ बगावत  राजद्रोह है,राष्ट्रद्रोह नहीं है।

सत्ता के खिलाफ,जनसंहारी नीतियों के खिलाफ खड़ा होना राजद्रोह है,ऐसा राजद्रोह जो राष्ट्रहित में अनिवार्य है।

राष्ट्रहित में अनिवर्य राजद्रोह को वे राष्ट्रद्रोह बता रहे हैं।

जनहितों से ऊपर राष्ट्र हित नहीं होता।

जनहित ही राष्ट्र है क्योंकि राष्ट्र जनता से बनता है अबाध विदेशी पूंजी से नहीं।अबाध विदेशी पूंजी के दल्लाराज के खिलाफ इसलिए विद्रोह अनिवार्य है।हुकूमत के खिलाफ इसी बगावत को वे राष्ट्रद्रोह बता रहे हैं और हम मान भी रहे हैं।फिर हम भीड़तंत्र में भेड़ हैं ।

रोहित वेमुला की संस्थागत हत्या को छुपाने के लिए जेएनयू को निशाना बनाया तो विश्वविद्यालयों में आग लगी है,जिसमें झुलसने लगी मनुस्मृति तो वैशाली की नगरवधू का अवतार हो गया।

वर्धमान में मुंह की खानी पड़ी सत्ता को,जेएनयू में बजरंगी बवाल की वजह से दिवालिया बादशाह सरेआम राजपथ पर नंगे खड़े हैं और कड़ी शिकस्त के बावजूद घनघोर हिंदुत्व का रास्ता चुन रहे हैं और उन्हें अपनी इस नंगी सियासत में मजा भी खूब आने लगा है।

जयश्री राम के नारे फिर गूंजने लगे हैं।

फिर कारसेवा की तैयारी है।

कश्मीर में अलगाववादियों के साथ सत्ता शेयर करने की उतावली बेशर्म सियासत को कश्मीर शब्द के उच्चारण से ही सजग नागरिकों को राष्ट्रद्रोही करार देने में सत्ता की सुगंध मिल रही है।

जितना तेज हो रहा है आंदोलन,जितने गोलबंद हो रहे हैं देशभर में मनुष्य,उतने ही अंधेरे के जीवजंतु अंधियारा का कारोबार फैला रहे हैं।इस फैले हुए रायते में वे अपनी कब्र खोदने लगे हैं।

संसद में जनता की आवाज गूंजने लगी तो बेगुनाह इशरत जहां के मुसलमान होने का फिर फायदा यह कि एक और मुसलमान को गद्दार बनाकर खड़ा कर दिया क्योंकि जेएनयू के छात्रों को गद्दार साबित करने के सारे कारनामों का खुलासा हो गया है।

सामने फिर वही मुसलमान,और भारत देश के जनगण की देशभक्ति की सबसे पकी हुई जमीन है नफरत मुसलमानों के लिए।इसलिए  वे रोज नया नाया खेल करते रहेंगे और बुड़बक की तरह हम लोग आयं बांय बहस में उलझकर बुनियादी मुद्दों से भटकते रहेंगे और देश दल्ला हवाले।

आज फिर लोकतंत्र में अभिनय दक्षता निर्णायक होती जा रही है।आवेश,आवेग और मुद्राओं का लोकतंत्र है यह,जहां चिंतन मनन सत्य असत्य मतामत सहमति विरोध जैसे तमाम लोकतांत्रिक शब्द बेमायने हैं।

क्या हम मनुष्य भी हैं?

क्या मनुस्मृति की निंदा काफी है,उनका क्या करें जो सेकुलर हैं और बेटियों को बख्श नहीं रहे हैं?

बंगाल में अब छात्राएं स्कूल कालेज छोड़कर घर जाकर मुंह छुपा रही हैं क्योंकि राजनीतिक गुंडे न सिर्फ उनसे मारपीट कर रहे हैं बल्कि उन्हें बलात्कार करने की धमकी दे रहे हैं,सरेआम।

हिंदू क्या हिंदू  राष्ट्र क्या,बुनियादी सवाल यह है कि हम हिंदू हों न हों,क्या हम मनुष्य भी हैं और जिस राष्ट्र के नाम यह कुरुक्षेत्र है,वह राष्ट्र क्या है,कहां है!

सच है कि यादवपुर विश्वविद्यालय के साथ साथ जेएनयू के पक्ष में कुछ विषैले जीवजंतुओं के अलावा पूरा बंगाल एकजुट है,तो सात मार्च को संभावित चुनाव अधिसूचना से पहले केसरिया मुहिम के तहत यादवपुर विश्वविद्यालय में दीदी ने पुलिस नहीं भेजा,लेकिन वर्दमान विश्वविद्यालय में पहले कैंपस में पुलिस बुलाकर छात्र छात्राओं को धुन डाला गया।फिर इसके खिलाफ जब वे अनशन पर बैठे तो तृणमूल कर्मियों ने रात में बत्ती बुझाकर उनकी खबर ली फिर मोटर बाइक पर सवार होकर घूम घूमकर  छात्रावासों और निजी आवासों में जाक छात्राओं को घुसकर बलात्कार कर देने की धमकी दे दी।

हालात ये हैं कि पूरे वर्दमान जिले में बलात्कार का शिकार होने के खतरे के मद्देनजर छात्राएं स्कूल कालेज छोड़कर घर में मुहं छुपाकर बैठने को मजबूर हैं।

कन्याश्री के राज में यह आलम है तो क्या सिर्फ मनुस्मति की निंदा करना काफी होगा?

पुरुष वर्चस्व  के आक्रामक लिंग से कैसे बचेंगी हमारी माताें,बहने और बेटियां जबकि सत्ता वर्ग के घरों में वे शायद हैं ही नहीं?

यह देश है वीर जवानों का। 2007 में असम में घटी थी यह घटना। दूरदर्शन पर इसे लेकर हंगामा हुआ था। इस औरत का नाम है लक्ष्मी ओरंग।

जेएनयू देखने में महिला विश्वविद्यालय लगता है,जहां करीब सत्तर फीसद छात्राएं तीश फीसद छात्रों के साथ पढ़ती हैं।

बनारस विश्वविद्यालय के साथ ही इसकी तुलना की जा सकती है।जेएनयू में दलित,ओबीसी और आदिवासी छात्र छात्राएं देश में जय भीम कामरेड का नारा बुलंद कर रही हैं।

इसी विश्वविद्यालय में अपने पूर्वोत्तर,हिमालय,कश्मीर,ओड़ीशा और असम जैसे पिछड़े इलाकों,द्रविड़ और अनार्य जनसमुदायों वाले दक्षिणात्य,लातिन अमेरिका और अफ्रीका के साथ साथ एशियाई मुल्कों के बच्चे पढ़ते हैं,लेकिन वहां कंडोम गिनने लगा है आरएसएस।

जो जन प्रतिनिधि ऐसा महान कर्म कर रहे हैं,उनने कभी अपने इलाके की कोई समस्या उठाया हो.मीडिया ने उसे इसीतरह फ्लैश क्यं नहीं किया ताज्जुब है।

दुनियाभर के लोग जानते हैं कि भारतीय राजनीति में सबसे विद्वान तीन लोग हैंःनेताजी,सुभाष और जवाहर।

हमारे शहीदे आजम भगत सिंह जैसे आजादी के लिए मर मिटे नौजवानों में भी विद्वता थी तो मां मनुस्मृति के हाथों बलि हुए दलित शोध छात्र की विद्वता की भी चर्चा दुनियाभर में है।

जेएनयू.यादवपुर विश्वविद्यालय समेत तमाम विश्विद्यालय, आईआईटी और आईआईएम समेत तमाम सरकारी उच्च शिक्षा संस्थान बंद करने के पीपीपी विकास माडल के तहत पतंजलि मार्का हावर्ड विश्वविद्यालय खोलने की मुहिम में बाकी देश को राष्ट्रद्रोही साबित करने पर आमादा मनुसमृति के सारस्वत वरद पुत्रों को अब नेहरु अपढ़ नजर आ रहे हैं.तो यह उनकी वैदिकी संस्कृति का ही प्रतिमान है,जिसके तहत कला साहित्य और ंस्कृति की तमाम विधाओं और माध्यमों में बहुजन अछूत और बहिस्कृत हैं।

बड़े अफसोस के साथ लिखना पड़ रहा है कि संसद में जिन सांसद सुगत बोस,नेताजी वंशज ने तृणमूल कांग्रेस की धर्मनिरपेक्षता की डंका पीट दी,उनके राजकाज में हाल और बुरा है।

हमारे गुरुजी ने आज लिखा हैः

मैं शत प्रतिशत भारतीय हूँ, राजनेताओं से भी अधिक भारतीय. भारतीयता मेरी अस्मिता है, व्यवसाय नहीं. जीवन के पिछ्ले ७५ सालों में मुझे हिन्दू होने या माने जाने से भी कोई गुरेज नहीं था. पर जब से इस देश में बाबरी मस्जिद का विध्वंस हुआ है हिन्दुत्व योगी आदित्यनाथ, सा्क्षी महाराज, तोगड़िया, अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद, सनातन संस्था, और तमाम नामों से उभरती संस्थाओं के द्वारा व्याख्यायित होने लगा है, मुझे हिन्दू और हिन्दुस्तान शब्द में खालिस्तान, तालिबान जैसी अनुगूंज सुनाई देने लगती है. और मैं भारत और उसकी समन्वयमयी संस्कृति के भविष्य के बारे में चिन्तित हो उठता हूँ.

अभी मेरे गुरुजी को वे तमाम चीखें सुनायी नहीं पड़ी हैं,जिससे हिंदू क्या हिंदू  राष्ट्र क्या,बुनियादी सवाल यह है कि हम हिंदू हों न हों,क्या हम मनुष्य भी हैं और जिस राष्ट्र के नाम यह कुरुक्षेत्र है,वह राष्ट्र क्या है,कहां है!

हमारे गुरुजी ने आगे लिखा हैः

वैचारिक मतभेद, उन पर बहस, की संस्कृति के विकास में मुख्य भूमिका होती है. बहस करने और तर्क करने से ही किसी ्घटना या धारणा के मूल तक पहुँचने और नये तथ्यों के अन्वेषण में सहायता मिलती है. इसीलिए हमारे प्राचीन मनीषियों ने ' वादे-वादे जायते तत्वबोध: की सलाह दी थी. दुर्भाग्य से सामन्ती सोच वाला समाज और हर सत्ता इसे अपने लिए सबसे बड़ा खतरा मानती है और उसे हर तरह से दबाने की चेष्टा करती है. पर विचार तो चेतना है, वह कभी नष्ट नहीं होती, उसे दबाने वाले ही नष्ट हो जाते हैं. ऐसा समाज पिछड़ जाता है.

नये प्रवाह को रोकिये मत, केवल उसे सही दिशा में मो्ड़िये और खुद भी उसके साथ चलने का प्रयास कीजिये. क्यों कि समय पुरातनता की कैंचुल को अधिक दिन तक सहन नहीं करता. नित्य नूतनता ही जीवन है, जो पुराना हुआ उसे प्रकृति खुद ही मिटा देती है.

गुरुजी के कहे मुताबिक पुनरुत्थान समय के हिंदू राष्ट्र में  यह विवेक कहां है,जहां सहमति का विवेक हो और असहमति का साहस भी हो?

हमारे लोग जानते हैं कि हमने अपने पिता की कभी नहीं सुनी।उनसे मेरे मतभेद विचारधारा के मुद्दे पर भयंकर और सार्वजनिक थे।हालांकि मेहनतकशो की हर लड़ाई में हम उनके साथ थे और आज भी उनकी लड़ाई में मर मिटने का इरादा है।इसके अलावा हमारी कोई दूसरी तमन्ना नहीं हैं।

क्योंकि कैंसर को हराकर जीने वाले,लड़ने वाले और कैंसर के आगे आत्मसमपर्ण किये बिना सारा दर्द हंसते हुए आखिरी सांस तक दुनिया को बेहतर बनाने का ख्वाब देखने वाले पिता का पुत्र हूं।

पिता मेरे अपढ़ थे।अंबेडकरी थे और कम्युनिस्ट भी थे।मतभेद उनसे इसी अंबेडकरी मिशन को लेकर था।पिता अपढ़ थे और कोई भाषा उनके लिए दीवार न थी।

राष्ट्रपति ,प्रधानमंत्री, मुख्यमंत्री वगैरह वगैरह से बेखौफ अपने लोगों के लिए लड़ने वाले उस पिता ने शरणार्थी होकर भी इस देश के मुसलमानों को कभी भारत विभाजन का जिम्मेदार नहीं माना।

उनने असम से लेकर देश के कोने कोने में दंगापीड़ित मुसलमान इलाकों में जाते रहने की अपनी कवायद को राजनीति या धर्मनिरपेक्षता के साथ कभी न जोड़ा।

वे  तमाम अस्मिताओं से ऊपर थे और जयभीम कामरेड का नारे न लगाकर भी वे तजिंदगी लाल थे और नील भी।

फिर भी मैंने उनका कहा कभी नहीं सुना।उलट इसके उन्होंने मेरे मतामत को हमेशा सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता दी।

मेरी विश्वविद्यालयी शिक्षा दीक्षा मुझे अपने पिता से एक कदम भी आगे ले जा सके,तो यह उपलब्धि किसी पुरस्कार या सम्मान से बड़ी होगी।

तारा चंद्र त्रिपाठी जी ने मुझे कभी किसी कक्षा में पढ़ाया नहीं। जीआईसी नैनीताल में वे विज्ञान पढाने वाले शिक्षकों को हिंदी पढ़ाते थे और मैं हाीस्कूल पास करते ही साहित्यकार बनने की धुन में विज्ञान को अलविदा कह चुका था।

संजोग से हाफ ईअरली परीक्षा की मेरी हिंदी की कापी वे जांच रहे थे और वही देखकर उनने मुझे दबोच लिया और आज भी उन्हीं के कब्जे में हूं।

मेरे जीवन में वे ही एक मात्र व्यक्ति हैं,जिनका कहा मैंने हमेशा अक्षरशः पालन किया है जिनने पहली ही मुलाकात के बाद मुझे अपने घर परिवार में शामिल कर लिया।मैं जो कुछ भी हूं,अच्छा बुरा उन्हींकी बदौलत हूं।वे नहीं मिलते तो मैं कुछ भी हो सकता था,लेकिन आज जो मैं हूं,वह हर्गिज नहीं होता।

इस नाते से मैं ब्राह्मण भी हूं क्योंकि अगर धर्म है तो उस हिसाब से ताराचंद्र त्रिपाठी मेरे धर्मपिता हैं।

उन्ही ताराचंद्र त्रिपाठी का ताजा स्टेटस शेयर कर रहा हूं।हस्तक्षेप पर उनके इतिहास के पाठ जारी हैं।जो भी सही इतिहास पढ़ना चाहते हैं,हस्तक्षेप पर हमारे गुरुजी की कक्षा में उनका स्वागत है।

गुरुजी ने लिखा हैः

मैं शत प्रतिशत भारतीय हूँ, राजनेताओं से भी अधिक भारतीय. भारतीयता मेरी अस्मिता है, व्यवसाय नहीं. जीवन के पिछ्ले ७५ सालों में मुझे हिन्दू होने या माने जाने से भी कोई गुरेज नहीं था. पर जब से इस देश में बाबरी मस्जिद का विध्वंस हुआ है हिन्दुत्व योगी आदित्यनाथ, सा्क्षी महाराज, तोगड़िया, अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषद, सनातन संस्था, और तमाम नामों से उभरती संस्थाओं के द्वारा व्याख्यायित होने लगा है, मुझे हिन्दू और हिन्दुस्तान शब्द में खालिस्तान, तालिबान जैसी अनुगूंज सुनाई देने लगती है. और मैं भारत और उसकी समन्वयमयी संस्कृति के भविष्य के बारे में चिन्तित हो उठता हूँ.

अक्सर यह होता है कि राजनीतिक रूप से जीत हासिल करने वाला सांस्कृतिक रूप से हार जाता है. यूनानी जीते, यूनानी सेनापति हेलियोदोर जैसे अनेक यूनानी वैष्णव या बौद्ध हो गये. शक, कुषाण, हूण, और भी न मालूम कितने आक्रान्ता और इस देश में अपना राज्य स्थापित करने वाले हमारे धर्म और समाज में विलीन हो गये. पूरा मध्यकाल राजनीतिक रूप से मुस्लिम सत्ता का युग है. पर साहित्य और कला की दृष्टि से वह मुस्लिम परम्पराओं पर भारतीय परंपराओं की अनवरत विजय का युग भी है. अंग्रेज जीते पर हमारी सांस्कृतिक परम्पराएँ उन्हें अनवरत अभिभूत कर रही हैं. हमारे जन नायकों ने अंग्रेजों को भारत छोड़ कर जाने के लिए विवश कर दिया. यह हमारी विजय थी. पर जीत कर भी हम अंग्रेजियत के सामने हार गये. वे हमें गुलाम समझते हुए भी हमारी प्राचीन संस्कृति का ओर- छोर प्रकाशित कर गये. पिशेल जैसे प्राकृत भाषाओं के महान जर्मन वैयाकरणिक ने सदा यह कामना की यदि मेरा जन्म भारत में न ह॒आ हो, मेरी मृत्यु भारत में हो. भगवान ने उनकी सुनी और वे भारत में आने के कुछ ही दिन बाद मद्रास में उनके पंचतत्व यहाँ की माटी में विलीन हुए. लेकिन हमारे अन्दर आजादी के बाद कितनी गुलामी भर गयी है, यह हमारे नव धनिकों और उनकी देखादेखी सामान्य जन को भी संक्रमित कर चुकी है.
